My academic journey in the Geological Sciences started at the National University of Comahue (UNCo) in Neuquén, my hometown in Argentine Patagonia! During the time I was an undergrad, a historic precipitation flooded the city and affected thousands. This event sparked my interest in precipitation-triggered geohazards.

The rainfall that affected Neuquen in 2014 eroded many unpaved roads (Photo from Clarín, 04/09/2014).
A Geomorphology field trip to an area affected by slow-moving landslides in Vista Alegre, a small town 28 km away from Neuquén, inspired me to focus in these events for my senior thesis.

My undergraduate thesis focused on assessing landslide risk in the characteristic bardas (plateau-like hills) in Neuquén, Argentina (Photo is my own).
During my master's, I studied the reconstruction of caves using low-cost LiDAR sensors (Photo is my own).
I presented a poster about the work I did during my master's at the Brazilian Conference on Engineering and Environmental Geology, in 2022, in the city of Belo Horizonte (Photo is my own).
After graduating, my academic path took me to Brazil, where I studied my MS in Computer Science at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). During that time, I worked on using different remote sensing to reconstruct fragile natural environments at Voxar Labs!

Today, I am combining my interests in landslides and the use of different remote sensing data (with a main focus on InSAR) to work in the detection of slow-moving landslides in undermonitored regions of the Americas.
