Abstract
This project will explore the significance of remembrance through imagery and narrative storytelling. Photography and written works throughout history have served to tell the stories from the past, granting a voice to people whom mainstream media often overlooked. As an examination of the profound impact of storytelling in marginalized communities, this project considers how media within cultural environments has played a vital role in preserving these histories. Through a photographic narrative, I aim to amplify the voices of various demographics and offer representation in spaces where many often feel silenced. I hope to highlight both familial and individual experiences, as well as the importance of storytelling in personal and community development.
