PhD Candidate in Economics
Graduation Date: May 2024
I am an Associate Economist at RAND (started in Fall 2024). I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland in 2024.
My research spans a variety of topics related to labor and public economics, though I am especially interested in the criminal justice system, access to mental health care, and the intersection of those two areas. Other recent projects include understanding the impact of parenthood on labor market dynamics among same-sex couples, evaluating the impact of grade inflation during high school, and exploring the contributing factors to productivity dispersion in the manufacturing sector. Since joining RAND, I have also developed a line of work related to personnel retention. I also love talking and thinking about anything methods and econometrics. My prior work in this space has been on estimating dynamic spatial networks and on monotonicity in multiple-instrument settings.
At the University of Maryland, I teach the summer course in probability and statistics for incoming graduate students. For course materials, please see Introduction to Probability and Statistics.
