Graduate Students

Students interested in pursuing a master's or doctoral degree should apply to the Human Development program within the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology. Please visit our department's website to learn more about degree options and application specific information.

The Human Development Program has two specializations that students can choose, Developmental Science and Educational Psychology. Dr. Ramani is affiliated with both specializations and is accepting students in both areas.

Students interested in working with Dr. Ramani or have questions about the program should contact her directly at gramani@umd.edu.

Resources for Prospective Students

Applying for a graduate degree can be incredibly daunting due to the sheer amount of time, effort, and money one must invest in it. Here are some resources that may help you in your application process:

Resources for Underrepresented Groups

The world of academia historically disadvantages students from underrepresented groups. Therefore, there are many organizations that strive to make the process easier and therefore more fair for these individuals. These include the SPARK Society, Project SHORT, Application Statement Feedback Program, Next-Gen Psych Scholars Program, Prospective Ph.D. & RA Event in Psychology (PPREP)

General Resources

The Psych Research List is a general resource that helps perspective graduate students with many aspects of the application including finding mentors, post-baccalaureate jobs, and other helpful resources.
