Throughout project, I learned that the creative process grows in stages and often calls for revision rather than happening all at once. I began by gathering information and deciding on how I wanted to communicate a West African cultural influence in a straightforward and relevant way. This helped me lay a strong foundation to build my collage and pick what elements to use.
As I worked, I noticed that having occasional breaks from my assignment helped me improve on it. Taking breaks enabled me to come up with new ideas and better ways to structure my layout. I also learned that inspiration does not always come right away, and that the best ideas often come after trying out and changing different parts of the work.
One of the most important parts of my process was revising my design. I moved pictures, added handmade details, and adjusted the spacing to make sure the message was clear and visually balanced. This made me realize that creativity is more than just having some ideas, it is also about refining them over time.
Overall, this project taught me that the creative process is flexible, ongoing, and shaped by both planning and flexibility. It takes patience, creative thinking, and a commitment to improve your work as it grows.
In addition to your creative process reflection, you can add a new section where you share additional information (summary, images, etc.) on your artistic techniques or research methods.
You are encouraged to modify the design of this section as a way of further curating your capstone exhibition.
