This project was a major test of time management and patience. Oftentimes, I found myself struggling to find the time I needed to dedicate to this project and I had to adapt accordingly. My early research was primarily completed in sudden bursts of energy, where I dove deep into each of my sources and found the specific references I wanted to use. Next, I moved on to sketching each of my final pieces. This ended up being a far more time consuming process than I had initially anticipated, and so I had to learn new strategies to accommodate. I used the time boxing method we covered in our Project Management Challenges, which “involves dividing your time into chunks, and assigning specific tasks to each chunk of time” (Memon). This helped me allocate my time appropriately to make sure I was able to complete all elements of my project. Throughout the process, I found I completed most of my work sporadically, though these unexpected moments of motivation often produced some of my best and most thorough work. Moving forward, I plan to delve deeper into the time management techniques we explored in this class in order to more effectively and efficiently complete my future projects.
