I began my creative project by selecting the color palette. I decided to use brighter colors, because most dancewear comes in more neutral tones. I began working with the acrylic yarn right away. I was set back with the mohair silk blend yarn, because the shipping took much longer than anticipated. I also expected the mohair yarn to be more difficult to work with than what I was used to, so I decided to make prototype swatches. It turned out to be quite easy to work with and less time consuming than I had anticipated, so this helped to balance out the shipping delays. While working, I used time management skills that were taught in CPSA250. I tried using the pomodoro technique, which is a strategy of working in time increments and taking breaks (Bremenstuhl, 2023). I initially worked 25 minutes on and took a 5 minute break, but I found that it was difficult for me to get into the rhythm of crocheting. I decided to alter the time increments and work for 50 minutes, then take a 10 minute break. Blocking out my work schedule allowed me to be focused on my project, but also allow myself to attend to personal needs.
