This project, and Art Scholars, have given me the practice and tools to develop new creative process skills that helped me effectively work on the project over the period of two semesters. The process of researching during fall semester gave me the time to explore my intellectual, emotional, and creative curiosities. My creative process prior to my capstone was heavily influenced by work I found inspiration and influence in, but never had I spent months researching and proposing a project in a professional manor. Art Scholars taught me how to take inspiration, influence and research, and let it guide the project, so that the goals and central message were clear. As a student, it can be difficult to find time to allow yourself to reach a certain creative mindset, or flow, that will aid in the development of a project. Spring semester, I learned about techniques such as mind wandering, to train yourself to get into that creative mindset more efficiently. When working on my project, I found the most creative strain writing the poems. One night, I took inspiration from the mind wandering technique, in combination with inspiration excitement, and found much more ease in articulating my ideas. When the time comes that I am working on another large creative project, I now have the tools and methods to help guide the project along.
