Through this capstone project, I have learned a great deal when it comes to artistic expression and creative development. In the art of collage there are many different strategies one can take. For example, in Sacrifice, I experimented with three different versions of the piece. Beginning from a simplistic route to a more developed and full piece. I have learned the beauty in collage art that the artist is able to create entirely different stories with the same elements, just arranged differently. Within CPSA250, the biggest lesson I had learned was the process of “Killing Your Darlings,” (Dietz, 2021) . This process was very difficult for me but made the greatest difference in the success of my capstone journey. Deciding to do away with aspects of my project was not easy, but overall, I was able to narrow down my ideas and create a conscience and perfect outcome. This was true specifically in the beginning of the semester when my project had too many branches of interest, where it became muddled and confusing. The process fine tuned my project as well as taught me how to use the technique in my other endeavors.
