UNIV 101/301: a semester-long course designed to help new first-year (101) and transfer (301) students develop academic skills and learn about campus resources for college success

Teaching Assistants will co-teach, on a weekly basis, an UNIV course with a staff instructor during the fall and/or spring semester while also meeting on a monthly basis to reflect on the experience

Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising (OAPA): provides advising for exploratory, undecided, and pre-allied health students, and coordinates campus-wide advising operations such as Orientation and the Major Event

OAPA Peer Advisors will assist students with addressing common academic questions related to registration, course planning, campus advising and registration tools, as well as preparation for appointments with professional advisors

Academic Success Center (ASC): provides centralized support services to all undergraduate students at UMBC with a focus on Academic Policy, Academic Learning Resources, and Academic Advocacy

Academic Peer Advocates (APAs) will meet with 1st-year, 2nd-year, and new transfer students in 1-on-1 meetings to support and empower students to take advantage of campus resources and provide individual support in partnership with their Academic Advocate

College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT): offers degree pathways in engineering, computer science, and information systems. 

COEIT Peer Navigator (CPNs) will assist with recruitment and student support initiatives in COEIT. CPNs will attend COEIT specific recruitment events on and off campus to provide tours and serve on panels. CPNs may also host office hours to assist current COEIT students in course registration.
