Brad started his scientific studies at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada earning a B Sc. Honors in Chemistry degree. He went on to obtain his PhD at the University of Utah working with Josef Michl studying reactive intermediates at low temperature. His interests evolved with Postdoctoral stays at the National Research Council of Canada and the Center for Photoinduced Charge Transfer at the University of Rochester where he studied photochemical reaction dynamics. These research experiences fueled his interest in teaching at the university level. Brad entered academia in 1995 joining the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of UMBC where he enjoys working with talented graduate and undergraduate students. Perhaps Brad’s most gratifying contribution to the community is his support of student involvement in peer-learning sessions where students share their interest and enthusiasm for learning and teaching.
