As Director of The Imaging Research Center and Research Associate Professor, Lee Boot is the creative core of my mentoring team. Professor Boot manages an interdisciplinary team utilizing digital media to create socially conscious, interactive outcomes. Some of his recent works include the award winning feature-film, Euphoria, which examines the state of happiness in the United States.
Professor Boot holds an M.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a B.F.A. from Syracuse University.
Dr. Kuber is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director for Human Centered Computing at UMBC. His research focuses on designing interfaces for the visually impaired as well as elder populations. Dr. Kuber's expertise has been invaluable in shaping my degree plan and informing the direction of my capstone project.
Dr. Kuber received his Ph.D. from Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland, and M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from University College London, UK.
Professor Steven McAlpine serves as my degree advisor and is the Assistant Director of the Individualized Study program. Professor McAlpine oversees the Kinetic Sculpture Project, an arts integration challenge created in 2014. The project is home to the award winning Kraken Upcycle and more recent MC Hammerhead. Professor McAlpine is an incredible member of the team and confidant for all things INDS.
Professor McAlpine holds a B.A from Dartmouth College and Ed.M from Harvard's Graduate School of Education.
