Liz Stanwyck is a senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. She attended Georgia State University for her B.S. (Mathematics) and obtained her Ph.D. in Statistics from UMBC. Liz has taught a variety of courses at all levels, from applied calculus to business statistics, probability theory and mathematical statistics. She is the undergraduate program advisor for the Statistics program, and has contributed to the increase in statistics majors. She co-coordinates the Math/Stat Teaching Circle with Kal Nanes, and has been instrumental in the creation of a new mathematics pathway for non-STEM students. She has worked with the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Consulting and is the Math/Stat liaison for the Sloan Foundation Fellowship in the Economics Department. She is passionate about teaching and about learning new things.
