Judith is the Director of the Instructional Design Program at UMass Boston. She has over thirty-three years teaching experience, along with expertise in the development and management of adult training, education and professional development programs. Judith earned her M.Ed. in Instructional Design at UMass Boston. She worked in the HIV/AIDS field for twenty-three years and served as a training specialist, instructional designer and consultant to various public health organizations including the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Boston Public Health Commission, New England AIDS Education and Training Center, Boston Health Care for the Homeless and many community-based organizations and AIDS service organizations throughout New England. Before coming to UMass, Judith was employed by the Latin American Health Institute and served there as an instructional designer, training specialist and Director of Training and Education. She is also a mindfulness practitioner and teaches classes in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Carol is a professor of education, author, and practitioner in organizations, focusing on instructional design, organization development, and training. Her research focuses on systems thinking, leadership, and learning communities. Dr. Sharicz has done research and/or teaching in 13 countries to date, including Australia, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, England, Estonia, Germany, Holland, India, Japan, Hong Kong, and Russia. Prior work experience includes being a senior training instructor for Motorola, Inc. Dr. Sharicz has many publications to her credit, including her book, The Big Picture: A Systems Thinking Story for Managers and is a frequent presenter at regional, national, and international conferences.
