Working in teams is integral to the role of the instructional designer. Many times, the work produced by a successful team is significantly better than what an individual is able to do on his or her own. In addition, peer learning is a rich source for experience and knowledge that enhances the learning environment. Most all of the Instructional Design Graduate Program's courses include a group work component. The resources below serve as examples of some of the group work agreements and evaluations you may encounter during your course of study. You are welcome to suggest these resources be used in your own group work both in your course work and may even wish to apply these concepts to your professional work in teams. Special thanks to Instructional Design Graduate Program instructor, Jane Buckley, for her permission to share these resources.
This sample team contract provides a model for how to collaboratively decide group processes, divide tasks and address potential barriers to success before they occur.
This sample provides a mechanism for students to provide feedback to their peers as a member of the same team. This tool helps students reflect on their contributions toward accomplishing a team goal as well as their contributions to the functioning of the team and its processes.
