Image Formation in Plane Mirrors:
How to use the Virtual Lab:
0. Select the 'Mirror' option to begin.
1. Move the slider labeled “source distance from mirror (d)” to change the object’s position.
2. Check Step 1, Step 2, or Step 3 to see the ray diagram construction stages.
3. Observe how the ray extends behind the mirror to form the virtual image.
4. Compare the object distance with the image distance.
5. Use what you see to explain why plane-mirror images always appear the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front.

This virtual lab is accessible via a web browser and supports keyboard navigation to adjust the slider. A written explanation is included to support learners who may have difficulty interpreting visual simulations. A direct link to the simulation is also provided to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies.
