Workspaces: Premiere Pro provides pre-built workspaces that are tailored for specific tasks, such as Editing, Color, Effects, and Audio. You can switch between workspaces using the "Window" menu or by clicking on the workspace tabs located on the top of the screen. Workspaces can be customized by rearranging panels, and you can save your custom workspace configurations for future use.
Source Monitor: The Source Monitor is where you preview and trim your raw video clips before adding them to the Timeline. You can set In and Out points to define the desired portions of a clip, and use playback controls to review the footage frame by frame or at normal speed.
Program Monitor: The Program Monitor displays the contents of your sequence as you edit in the Timeline. This is where you'll see the results of your edits, including cuts, transitions, and effects. Use the playback controls to preview your sequence and make adjustments as needed.
Timeline: The Timeline is where you'll assemble your video sequence by arranging and editing clips. It consists of multiple tracks for video and audio, and you can use various editing tools to manipulate the clips. Zoom in and out, or scroll through the Timeline to view different parts of your sequence.
Toolbars: Premiere Pro features toolbars with a variety of editing tools to help you make precise adjustments to your clips and sequence. These tools include the Selection tool, Ripple Edit tool, Rolling Edit tool, and many others. You can access these tools by clicking on their respective icons in the toolbar or by using keyboard shortcuts.
After creating a new project, import the video clips you want to edit. To do this, go to the "File" menu, select "Import," and navigate to the location where your video clips are stored. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the files directly into the Project panel (Panel Dock in the picture above). Organize your clips in bins within the Project panel for easy access during the editing process.
