Virtual Meeting Standards
The Alliance Against Ableism has developed virtual meeting standards that allow equitable participation for people with disabilities without requiring anyone to disclose a need. Following these standards can make your meeting more inclusive.

Avoid speaking more quickly than the transcript can keep up with
State your name when you speak (e.g., “This is Jeff…”)
Turn your camera on when speaking (if possible)
If someone has written in the chat, please read aloud
Blur your background if possible
Mute when not speaking
Ask people if they have any access needs for the meeting
