Awards for UMA University and Staff
August 25, 2025: Prof. Anja Habacha, Director of the National School of Computer Science (ENSI) at the University of Manouba (UMA), was honored by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, who awarded her the honorary title of “National Order of Merit – Third Class” in the field of education and knowledge during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the ENSI. Kaïs Saïed, who awarded her the honorary title of “National Order of Merit – Third Class” in the field of education and knowledge during the celebration of National Knowledge Day at the Carthage Palace.
This distinction recognizes an exemplary career, driven by strategic vision, constant commitment, and a valuable contribution to the development of higher education in Tunisia.
Prof. Anja Habacha Chaibi has been working for several years to consolidate academic quality and modernize university governance. She is also an active member of several national bodies involved in the management and reform of higher education.
Prof. Anja Habacha Chaibi holds a degree in computer engineering from the National School of Computer Science, a PhD in computer science from the University of Tunis El Manar, and a university qualification from ENSI. Her career is marked by recognized expertise in systems engineering, institutional governance, and quality management.

July 15, 2025: As part of its commitment to supporting future students, the University of Manouba organized a Regional Orientation Day at Espace Hayet, bringing together high school graduates, parents, teachers, and educational leaders with a common goal: to facilitate access to information and promote the UMA's educational programs.
This meeting allowed visitors to discover the academic offerings of UMA institutions, talk directly with teaching staff, and receive personalized advice on career choices, professional opportunities, and possible pathways between programs.
July 17, 18, and 19, 2025: The University of Manouba took part in the National University Orientation Days, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Cité des Sciences in Tunis.
During these three days, UMA presented its educational offerings at an institutional booth staffed by academic administrators, teachers, and guidance counselors. Visitors were able to learn about bachelor's and master's degree programs, available transfer options, and the specific features of the university's various departments.
This participation is part of a desire to make guidance more accessible, transparent, and tailored to the aspirations of young people, while highlighting the UMA's commitment to helping high school graduates make informed and meaningful choices.
July 23, 2025: The University of Manouba celebrated the end of the 2024–2025 academic year during Knowledge Day, a ceremony marked by recognition, conviviality, and institutional pride.
This event brought together the university community around the University President, Prof. Ameur Cherif, and the two Vice Presidents, Prof. Azza Frikha and Prof. Nabil Grissa, and the Secretary General, Mr. Imed Hidri, to salute the efforts and successes that marked the year. Honorary distinctions were awarded to teachers and researchers who have contributed to the academic and scientific reputation of the university. Prizes were awarded to our students who have excelled in their academic careers, and a special tribute was paid to the administrative and technical staff for their constant commitment.
This awards ceremony was distinguished by:

From September 15 to 27, 2025: The University of Manouba, through its UNESCO Chair on Higher Education for Sustainable Development in Africa, and Sapienza Università di Roma, have launched a summer school program dedicated to cultural heritage and sustainable tourism.
This program brings together experts, teachers, students, and various stakeholders to explore innovative approaches that combine heritage preservation with the development of responsible and sustainable tourism.
The program offers lectures, workshops, field trips, and enriching exchanges to imagine creative solutions for our shared heritage.

July 8, 2025: The University of Manouba, in partnership with the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Sidi Thabet (ISBST), organized the first workshop of the Erasmus+ Pythagoras project, a significant step in strengthening academic and scientific cooperation.
This event highlighted the importance of innovation and the development of higher education and research in the field of biotechnology.
Pythagoras is an Erasmus+ project aimed at strengthening capacities in the field of higher education. It seeks to consolidate the links between the research and education sector on the one hand, and the business world on the other hand.

September 18, 2025: The University of Manouba and the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Humanities of Manouba (FLAH) had the honor of welcoming Mr. Pascal Boniface, French author, intellectual and founder of the Institute for International and Strategic Relations (IRIS).
A recognized specialist in geopolitics and international relations, Mr. Boniface engaged with faculty members, researchers and students on current topics, offering in-depth insights into their impact on societies.
Recognized specialist in geopolitics and international relations, Pascal Boniface engaged, during this conference moderated by Prof. Ahlem Ghayaza, in discussions with professors, researchers, and students on current global issues, offering an in-depth reflection on their impact on societies.
The geopolitologist and director of IRIS also presented his book Permis de tuer, published in 2025, in which he examines the way the West perceives, labels, or chooses to ignore certain realities. A rigorous essay that encourages critical thinking in the face of dominant narratives.
"Mobility Days" Workshop ESEN-ATEN
july 1st, 2025: As part of its initiative to explore innovative research in the digital economy and international best practices in doctoral education, ESEN, in partnership with ATEN (the Tunisian Association for the Digital Economy), organized a workshop led by Prof. Beatriz Casais of the University of Minho in Portugal, a specialist in qualitative methodologies applied to the digital economy and management.

july 18, 2025: The École Supérieure d’Économie Numérique (ESEN) has made a major contribution to the professional retraining program led by the Manouba S²T Technology Park.
This program aims to enhance the employability of recent graduates by facilitating their transition into digital professions.
Through 240 hours of intensive training delivered by an ESEN team, the school reaffirms its role as a key player in developing digital skills and supporting professional integration.

ISCAE Students Achieve Outstanding Results on the National Accounting Audit Exam
july 14, 2025: ISCAE announced the outstanding success of its students: 33 candidates passed the national CES exam in accounting auditing out of a total of 91 test-takers.
This remarkable achievement once again confirms the University of Manouba and its institutions’ position among the top institutions in the country.
Symposium: “NEET – Young People Not in Education, Employment, or Training: Migration and Demographic Trends in Tunisia: Understanding Vulnerabilities to Envision Growth”
july 25, 2025: The RIGUEUR Laboratory organized a scientific conference titled: “NEET – Young People Not in Education, Employment, or Training: Migration and Demographic Trends in Tunisia: Understanding Vulnerabilities to Envision Growth.” This meeting provided a unique opportunity to discuss a major challenge for Tunisia: so-called NEET youth, who are at the heart of issues related to education, employment, migration, and demographic dynamics. The event brought together university researchers, national and international experts, and institutional stakeholders, who shared their perspectives to analyze the vulnerabilities faced by young people and explore avenues for inclusive and sustainable growth. The richness and diversity of the presentations, along with the quality of the discussions, helped highlight key areas for reflection regarding public policies and development strategies.
Honors and Distinctions of the Qualitative Analysis Laboratory (ESCT)
The QuanLab (Qualitative Analysis Laboratory) of the École Supérieure de Commerce de Tunis (ESCT), affiliated with the University of La Manouba, counts three of its members among the researchers ranked in the global Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% list of the most influential scientists for the year 2024.

Inspiring Conclusion of the Student Entrepreneur Program – UMA
july the 2sd, 2025: Under the auspices of Mr. Mondher Belaïd, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Mr. Mahmoud Chouaib, Governor of Manouba, and Mr. Ameur Chérif, President of the University of Manouba, the 3rd ceremony for the awarding of the National Student Entrepreneur Status (SNEE) was held in an atmosphere that was both engaging and inspiring.
Sixty-two recipients from 11 institutions were honored for their entrepreneurial commitment, divided into:
32 Initiators – bearers of inspiring ideas
28 Innovators – with validated business plans and in the concrete creation phase
2 Promoters – legally established startups
The certificates were officially presented by the President of the University of Manouba (UMA), Prof. Ameur Cherif, and the Vice President, Prof. Azza Frikha, accompanied by all institutional and academic representatives, thus highlighting the significance of this recognition in the academic journey of the awardees.
