UMA students garner well-deserved recognition for their accomplishments
June 21, 2025: The University of Manouba is proud to announce the participation of Nour Laabidi, a student at the Tunis School of Business (ESCT – UMA), in the World Summit of Responsible Student Leaders, organized by the IASAS (International Association for Student Affairs and Services) at University College Cork, Ireland.
This event gathered young leaders from around the globe to discuss sustainable development issues, emphasizing co-construction and civic innovation. Nour Laabidi embodied the values of UMA: academic excellence, social responsibility, and international openness.
June 21, 2025: The University of Manouba warmly congratulates Malek Ghileb, a doctoral student at the ECCOFIGES laboratory and enrolled at the Tunis School of Business (ESCT – UMA), for winning third prize in the international competition “My Thesis in 180 Seconds,” organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
This achievement highlights the exceptional quality of doctoral training at UMA and underscores the University's commitment to participating in international competitions that promote research and academic innovation.
The National School of Computer Science (ENSI) has earned dual ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2018 certification with an exceptional outcome—zero non-conformities in the final audit.

April 30, 2025 — The University of Manouba (UMA) hosted the 6th edition of Manouba Networking Day (MND’25), now a landmark event in the Tunisian academic landscape. Serving as a dynamic platform for exchange among students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and institutional partners, the event once again embodied UMA’s mission to connect knowledge, talent, and opportunity.

Steps Underway to Create an Indian Studies Chair at the University of Manouba
May 9, 2025: Her Excellency Dr. Devyani Khobragade, Ambassador of India to Tunisia, visited the University of Manouba to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation. She was welcomed by Prof. Ameur Cherif, President of the University, along with Mr. Imed Hidri, Secretary-General; Ms. Nadia Al Amri, Director of Academic Affairs and Scientific Partnerships; Ms. Hajer Barghouthi, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs and Scientific Partnerships; and Ms. Olfa Bousra, Officer in Charge of International Cooperation.
The meeting focused on several key areas, particularly scientific research, the exchange of students and faculty, training, and skills development. Additionally, an agreement in principle was reached for the establishment of an Indian Studies Chair at the University.
UMA Opens New Horizons Through Partnership with Shanghai Open University
May 12, 2025 — The University of Manouba (UMA) and Shanghai Open University signed a strategic partnership agreement, marking a significant milestone in academic and scientific cooperation between Tunisia and China. TThe signing ceremony, held at the rectorate of Université de la Manouba (UMA) in the presence of Pr. Ameur Cherif, President of UMA, and Pr. Azza Frikha, Vice President of UMA, brought together representatives of both institutions in a spirit of cooperation and shared vision.
On this occasion, visits were also organized to several UMA institutions—ENSI, ESC, ISCAE, ISAMM—as well as to the CCK, enabling the Chinese delegation to explore the university’s infrastructure and resources.

Information Day – Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025
June 10, 2025 — The University of Manouba (UMA) hosted an Information Day on Horizon Europe – Work Programme 2025, organized by UGPO-Horizon Europe (MESRS) in partnership with UMA and the University of Tunis.
The event, attended by Prof. Ameur Cherif, UMA President, and Prof. Azza Frikha, Vice-President, Prof. Rached Gharbi, Vice-President of the University of Tunis; and Prof. Helmi Merdassi, Director General of UGPO-HE, MESRS.

April 22, 2025: The symposium opened at the Tunisian Academy Beit Al Hekma, in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Anne Guéguen, Ambassador of France to Tunisia; Prof. Ameur Cherif, President of the University of Manouba; Mr. Mohamed Ben Romdhane, President of the Academy; Mr. Fabio Rugirello, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis; Prof. Mohamed Kameleddine Gaha, President of the Think Tank and Study Group on Tunisian Literature in French; and Prof. Alfonso Campisi, Chair of Sicily for the Dialogue of Cultures and Civilizations.

The University of Manouba Holds UNESCO Chair Information Session
April 15, 2025: The University of Manouba (UMA) hosted the team from the UNESCO Chair on Higher Education for Sustainable Development in Africa for an INFOSHARE session titled "Understand, Join, Commit,"The session was opened by Prof. Jouhaina Gherib, holder of the UNESCO Chair and held at the El Hadatha Amphitheater.
This meeting aimed to present the Chair's objectives, communities, and projects, while also officially launching the individual membership campaign.
This initiative is part of UMA’s proactive engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing its role as a committed academic stakeholder in addressing environmental, social, and educational challenges across the African continent.

4th Edition of the University Sports Festival: A Week of Sports, Cohesion, and Commitment
The ISCAE football team emerged victorious in the final against the ENSI team.
May 12–16, 2025:The Manouba University Complex came alive with the 4th edition of the University Sports Festival, a unifying event that brought the academic community together around the values of sport, social cohesion, and excellence.
Students, faculty, and administrative staff participated in a range of sports and cultural activities, including:
Inter-institution tournaments in football, basketball, and volleyball
Individual and relay races
Artistic performances and musical entertainment
Workshops on health awareness and well-being
The festive and inclusive atmosphere helped strengthen ties among the various institutions of UMA, while showcasing athletic talent and team spirit. The festival also provided an opportunity to promote student initiatives and university clubs in a friendly and stimulating environment.
ISCAE – UMA: Kick-off of the 2025 National Accounting Review Examination
May 25, 2025: The Higher Institute of Accounting and Business Administration (ISCAE – University of Manouba) hosted the official launch of the national examination for the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Accounting Auditing, organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
On this occasion, Prof. Ameur Cherif, President of the University of Manouba, visited the ISCAE examination center, accompanied by Mr. Saber Sebai, Director of the Institute; Mr. Chadli Jelouli, Secretary General; and Ms. Asma Bouchkoui, Head of the Center. The BVBGR Lab (LR11ES31) Elects New President
18 April 2025: As part of the renewal of the management of the Plant Biology, Biotechnology and Resource Genetics Laboratory (BVBGR – LR11ES31), affiliated with the University of Manouba and located at the Sidi Thabet Biotechpôle, Mr Habib Chouchène has been elected as the new director of the laboratory.

Biotechnology & One Health Partner to Enhance ISBST & ABI Collaboration
16 May 2025: In collaboration with ABI, ISBST is currently developing projects based on the One Health concept. This partnership illustrates a constructive, sustainable, and beneficial approach in the fields of biotechnology and health.
ISBST and Hikma: Synergy for Professional Training in Biotechnology
7 May 2025: As part of the partnership between ISBST and Hikma Pharmaceuticals, a workshop on risk management in the pharmaceutical industry was organised for third-year students studying biotechnology applied to the pharmaceutical sector and biological and environmental analysis (ABE).
This initiative demonstrates the commitment of Hikma's management team to actively contribute to student training and strengthen the link between higher education and industry.

Two ISAMM Teams Shine at the 2025 National PFE Challenge
20 June 2025: The Higher Institute of Multimedia Arts of Manouba (ISAMM) is the winner of two awards at the 2nd edition of the End-of-Study Projects Challenge, organized by Orange Tunisia.
Farah Hamda and Yazid Cherif distinguished themselves by winning the national prize for the best end-of-study project.
Hiba Ben Amor and Chayma Askri were selected as two of the eight best finalist projects in this major competition.

Furthermore, it aimed to address the challenges associated with digitization, accessibility, and the transmission of this cultural heritage to future generations.
University of Monastir High Level Visit to ISD
May 13, 2025: As part of its commitment to strengthening inter-university collaboration and developing strategic projects, the Higher Institute of Documentation (ISD) at the University of Manouba welcomed a delegation from the University of Monastir, including President Prof. Kamel Cherada and Vice-President Prof. Leïla Hamida Harzallah.
This visit facilitated a working meeting between the President of the University of Manouba, Prof. Ameur Cherif; the Director of the ISD, Prof. Hafsi Bedhouifi; the Director of Studies and Internships, Mr. Mohamed Ben Ramadan; and a group of faculty and researchers from the Institute.
Discussions centered on implementing an operational and integrated plan to preserve and promote university audiovisual archives, with the aim of extending this pilot project to all universities interested in participating.
The ISD extends its heartfelt thanks to the University of Monastir for this constructive meeting, as well as to all academic and scientific teams at the Institute for their hospitality, the richness of the discussions, and the spirit of cooperation that characterized this gathering.
ISHTC Joins Forces with Djerba to Promote Archives and Heritage
16 April 2025: During a conference organized at the Higher Institute of Contemporary Tunisian History, the Institute's Director, Prof. Khaled Abid, announced the signing of a partnership agreement with the Association for the Preservation of the Island of Djerba and the Baronian Library of Djerba. This announcement was made in the presence of the President of the University of Manouba, Prof. Ameur Cherif.
The collaboration aims to promote the island's historical and documentary heritage, strengthen scientific research on its archives, and develop joint initiatives to preserve and disseminate collective memory.

6th ECCOFIGES Doctoral Days
19 and 20 April 2025: The sixth ECCOFIGES Doctoral Days took place at the Mehari Hotel in Hammamet, centered on the theme ‘Geopolitical Changes and Globalisation: Threats and Opportunities.’ This scientific event served as a forum for discussion and debate, bringing together doctoral students, lecturers, researchers, and experts to share their academic and geostrategic insights on contemporary issues.
ISO training for ESCT Staff
3-4 May 2025: As part of the ISO certification process, ESCT administrative and technical staff attended a training course on ISO standards and continuous quality improvement. This session helped to strengthen skills and optimise internal practices to ensure ever more efficient service.
Closing of the ‘CLE’ Training Course at ESCT: Understanding Business
26 May 2025: ESCT organised a certificate award ceremony for third-year students studying for a Bachelor's degree in Marketing – Sales and Negotiation Techniques who had completed the CLE: Understanding Business training course. This initiative is part of an approach to strengthen cross-disciplinary skills and prepare students for professional integration. The ceremony was attended by Professor Nadia Abaoub, Director of the School, Ms Rym Khabbouchi, head of the CLE programme at the University of Manouba, and Dr Elhem Gharbi Baccar, CLE facilitator at ESCT. This event marked the official recognition of the students' commitment and diligence throughout this formative journey.
Commemorative ceremony and official visit by the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to ESSTED
12 June 2025: The Higher School of Design Sciences and Technologies had the honour of welcoming His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Dr Rami Al-Qadumi, accompanied by a delegation of Palestinian students in Tunisia.
On this occasion, a commemorative plaque was unveiled in the Martyr Farès Khaled Square within the school, in the presence of his family, the Vice-President of the University of Manouba, Mr Nabil Grissa, the Director of ESSTED, Mr Naoufel Abbes, representatives of the University's Scientific Council, as well as a group of teachers, administrative staff and students from the school. The ceremony concluded with the reading of the Fatiha in memory of his pure soul.
Strategic Partnership and Sustainable Innovations at ESSTED
May 2025: ESSTED signed a partnership agreement with the Tunisian Association for Sustainable Development: Research in Action, consolidating cooperation for sustainable development and innovation.
On this occasion, students from the Water Design Lab workshop (5th edition of RAID 2025) presented their projects at Water Expo Tunisia 5.0, focusing on solutions inspired by nature and circular water management, aimed at tangibly improving the quality of life on campus.
ESSTED stands out at the Wood_Innov_Design 2025 competition
28 May 2025: ESSTED students successfully participated in the 5th edition of the Wood Innov Design competition, organised by CETIBA and FNBA. At the awards ceremony at UTICA, Sameh Ziadia won 5th prize for his innovative project. This event also gave students the opportunity to put their skills into practice, meet industry professionals and showcase their potential.

ESEN Workshop in Anticipation of ISO 21001 certification
10 April 2025: Within its ISO 21001 certification project preparation activities, a workshop was organized at ESEN, led by our colleague Prof. Samiha Gharbi.
This session allowed participants to familiarize themselves with the principles, requirements, and best practices of the ISO 21001 standard, which aims to enhance the quality of educational services and the learner experience within our institution.
ESEN Holds GBV Photo Competition: Breaking silence
20 April 2025: A competition organized at ESEN on the theme of ‘Violence Against Women (Physical, Psychological, Social, Symbolic)’ aimed to highlight the power of images in raising public awareness, eliciting empathy, and encouraging social change. Through their photographs, participants explored the various forms of violence experienced by women, contributing to collective awareness.
This initiative aligns with SDG 5: Gender Equality, supporting the fight against all forms of violence against women and promoting their empowerment.

June 2025: Students from ESEN participated in Web Expo Algeria, one of the largest e-commerce and online services exhibitions in Africa. This experience offered students an invaluable opportunity to explore the latest digital trends and engage directly with industry professionals.
ESEN: Bridging Artisan Heritage and Academic Innovation
April 30, 2025: The goal of this event was to connect two complementary fields: artisan tradition and student digital expertise. Participants developed strategies for commercializing and enhancing the value of handcrafted products by utilizing digital tools to increase their presence and market reach.

Study Day dedicated to “Climate Transition in Tunisia: Challenges and Levers”
May 9, 2025: The MOCFINE laboratory organized a study day dedicated to a major current issue: “Climate Transition in Tunisia: Challenges and Levers.” The event was led by Mr. Rafik Missaoui, an expert in the fields of energy and climate. This meeting provided an opportunity to analyze the main challenges related to Tunisia’s climate transition, while highlighting concrete courses of action.
2nd International Conference on Digital Transformation & Management (ICDTM’25)
May 30 and 31, 2025: The 2nd International Conference on Digital Transformation & Management (ICDTM’25) took place in Hammamet, Tunisia. Organized by the RIGUEUR laboratory in collaboration with the BEST Chair of Montpellier Business School, the conference focused on the theme "Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies: Technological Innovation for Social Impact." It brought together over one hundred participants—researchers, experts, and professionals—to address the key challenges of digitalization, managerial innovation, and sustainability. Training Sessions: Mastering Entrepreneurial Pitch
May 29-30: Student entrepreneurs participated in an intensive pitch preparation program aimed at refining their final presentations. The training emphasized structuring compelling content, mastering oral and non-verbal communication, and developing the persuasive skills necessary to engage expert audiences. Importantly, this initiative sought to cultivate essential entrepreneurial soft skills, including argumentation, time management, and adaptability. The preparation workshops were led by specialists from the socio-professional sector, ensuring that the guidance provided was practical and aligned with current market demands. UMA PEE Entrepreneurial Guidance: Corporate Legal Structures, Tax & Social Liabilities
April 16 & 23, 2025: The UMA Student Entrepreneurship Pole (PEE) hosted two immersive workshops aimed at equipping student entrepreneurs with a comprehensive understanding of the legal, tax, and social requirements for launching a business.
The first workshop, titled "Choosing the Right Legal Structure," guided participants in strategically selecting the optimal legal status for their ventures by comparing different forms and analyzing their fiscal and organizational implications.
The second workshop, "Navigating Tax and Social Compliance," informed students about the critical fiscal and social responsibilities their companies must fulfill. Participants learned to understand tax liabilities, identify employee obligations, and anticipate reporting deadlines to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Both successful sessions were facilitated by Mr. Sofiene Weriemi, a Certified Public Accountant (OECT).

June 17, 2025: The University of Manouba hosted a meeting to explore partnership opportunities with U-Accelerator. The focus was on developing a project to professionalize support staff for technology transfer and to facilitate the launch of scientific spin-off companies.
