The followings are important information for the upcoming conference for your attention and action:
1. View HERE for conference presenters’ tentative programme. All presenters are allotted a maximum of 15 minutes for their
presentation, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.
2. Kindly note that all foreign citizens are required to complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within three days prior
to their arrival in Kuala Lumpur. You may access and complete the form at the following link: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main
3. You are kindly invited to fill in the form of accommodation details and passport copy here: https://forms.gle/kUyCRRvQiTcCmBDU9 These details are confidential and are for Faculty record only. Your kind cooperation to fill in the details before arrival is highly appreciated.
4. Ways to reach your hotel from the airport:
i. e-Hailing Services – order a taxi or Grab app (direct and easiest way) at typically RM65.00. Download the transportation app on your mobile. Meet with your e-Hailing / Grab driver at pick up point:
KLIA Terminal 1: KLIA International Arrival – Level 1 (Door 4)
KLIA 2: Follow the signs to the designated Door 4 & 5, Level 1 of Transportation Hub.
ii. KLIA Expres Train to KL Sentral at RM55.00 per person. Then e-hailing to your respective hotel.
iii. Bus to KL Sentral at around RM15.00 to RM20.00 per person. Then e-hailing to your respective hotel.
5. Only Malaysian Ringgit currency is used. Should you need to change currency when you have arrived, you may change it at the
airport or at any malls near your accommodation.
6. A Tourism Tax (TTx) is a tax charged for all foreign passport holders staying at accommodation premises in Malaysia. Kindly note
that it is at a rate of RM10.00 per room per night.
7. Pickup and drop-off arrangement will only be to and fro from Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya and the Faculty from 1st – 4th December
2024. Please aboard the Universiti Malaya bus at the hotel lobby and Faculty’s foyer for departure at the following time:
1st December 2024 (for pre-conference tour): Hotel lobby – 7.30AM, Faculty foyer – 8.00PM.
2nd December 2024: Hotel lobby – 8.30AM, Faculty foyer – 7.00PM.
3rd December 2024: Hotel lobby – 8.30AM, Faculty foyer – 6.00PM.
4th December 2024 (for post-conference tour): Hotel lobby – 8.30AM, Faculty foyer – 8.00PM.
8. Pre- and Post-Conference Tours:
i. Attendees of the pre-conference tour to the Melaka Historical City shall be at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences,
Universiti Malaya before 8.00AM.
ii. Person in charge will be Mr. Arif, our friendly committee member. You may reach him at +6013-6410727, should you require so.
Bus for pre-conference tour will depart at 8.00AM.
Bus for post-conference tour will depart at 9.00AM.
iii. Pre- and post-conference tours currently have another 5 seats left. Anyone interested may take the following steps to secure
their seats.

Pre-Conference Tour fee: USD70
Post-Conference Tour fee: USD50
Combo Package (Pre and Post-Tour) fee: USD100
Note:
Pre and post-conference tour fees are additional to registration fees.
Tour only includes transportation, tour guide and snacks. Meals and entrance fees to spots are to be borne by participants.
Both tours start and end at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya.
Go to e-pay UM and search ‘10th SSEASR Conference 2024 Tour’ to proceed for payment. Kindly state in the description your desired tour package.
9. Registration, conference and dining hall:
i. For conference registration, please register yourself on 2nd December 2024, Monday by 9.00 AM at Dataran Sastera, Faculty of
Arts and Social Sciences.
ii. You may search Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya for location drop pin. Our faculty is directly opposite
Maybank and He & She Coffee shop.
iii. Morning tea break, lunch, evening tea break and conference dinner shall be held at the Dataran Sastera.
iv. Lounge area and exhibition booth: The Cube FASS
10. Currently, Malaysia is in the monsoon season. However, at times the weather is hot and sunny. Thus, please bring an umbrella for
preparation and make sure you are hydrated at all times.
11. Typically used public transportation app in Kuala Lumpur is Grab. You may download it from the App Store on your mobile phone.
