Dr Kyriakos Kourousis is an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Limerick.
He holds a PhD in metal plasticity, awarded from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He has 23+ years of professional practice and research experience in the fields of cyclic plasticity of metals, metal additive manufacturing and airworthiness, both as an academic and an aeronautical engineer.
His research expertise is in the field of inelastic behaviour of conventional and additively manufactured (3D printed) metals, working on modelling and characterisation of their response under complex loading. He is a Chartered Engineer, registered with the UK Engineering Council, and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
