The poem must be original.
Poets must be Malaysian (aged 18 years and above).
Poets are encouraged to attend the poetic sites' visits. There will be 9 poetic sites that you will be taken to, and you may write about the nature, culture and/or communities that you will be exposed to. You may write on the rural landscapes, coasts, shorelines, agricultural activities, history or heritage of these sites.
Your poems should not insinuate any sexist, racist, homophobic, or transphobic issues.
You need to sign a publishing right agreement and a registration slip.
Each poet can only submit one poetry for submission. Once accepted, the poet must send his/her recorded poetry recitations or films before the deadline given. Video duration should not exceed 5 minutes.
Your poem can be written in any of these languages:
English/ Malay/ Indonesian/ Mandarin/Arabic/ Japanese/ French/ Spanish/ Mongolian and other living languages.
If you are presenting in other languages other than Malay and English, you are required to include English translation in your poetry film.
The poem should not been previously published, broadcasted, or accepted for any publication.
The length of each poem must not exceed 40 lines.

Poetry Film Competition: Poetry film is the use of spoken word poetry, visual images, and sound to create a plot and interpretation of the meaning being conveyed.
All poems must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form.
Please keep a copy of your poem as entries will not be returned.
Poetic Trails of Perlis reserves the right to have entries published on the internet, in an anthology or used for publicity purposes in the future.
Entries not complying with the rules will be disqualified.
Under no circumstances can alterations be made to poems once submitted.
The judges’ decision is final.
