CATEGORY A: CREATIVE MAP FOR HLI
(Note: This category is for Higher Learning Institutions only )
Eligibility: The competition is open to students enrolled in Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or Remote Sensing at any local Institution of Higher Learning in Malaysia.
Academic Year: Participants must be current students in the 2025-2026 academic year. Projects must have been created during 2025-2026 academic year.
Team Composition: Only team projects will be accepted. Each team must consist of three (3) members.
Theme: Maps and posters for the competition must strictly adhere to the designated theme “Geospatial Metaverse Empowering Heritage”.
Prohibitions: This competition will not accept imaginary maps, hand-drawn maps, or video game maps.
Originality: The cartographic work must be the original work of the participants. The submitted product must not have been used in or submitted to any prior competitions.
Technical Specifications: Submissions must be in static PDF format with a final colored, printed map in A0 size, ensuring at least 2cm margins for judging.
Project Description: A project description (marginal information) must be provided in A3 size format. It must be under 500 words and include details on methods, tools used, data sources, coordinate systems, and projections. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bunting stand for displaying their project description poster. A rental fee applies for bunting stands provided by the organizers, but quantities are limited
Registration Deadline: 15 April 2026.
Registration Fee: A fee of RM 70.00 applies to each entry.

CATEGORY B: CREATIVE MAP FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Eligibility: The competition is open to secondary school students (Form 4 and 5) (Subject to PAJSK approval)
Theme: The creative map category for secondary school students is specifically titled “Peta Sekolah Saya”.
Team Composition: Each entry must consist of three (3) members. Participation is limited to three (3) entry per school. The total number of entries for this category is limited to the first 15 registrations only.
Prohibitions: This competition will not accept imaginary maps, hand-drawn maps, or video game maps.
Technical Specifications: Participants must use the provided templates for creative maps. The final colored map must be printed in A0 size.
Registration Deadline: 15 April 2026.
Registration Fee: Participation is FREE of charge for secondary school students.

CATEGORY C : SYSTEM INNOVATION/GADGET
(Note: This category is for Higher Learning Institutions only )
Project Requirements: Each group must prepare an A1-sized poster describing their project.
Poster Content: The poster must not exceed 500 words and should include methods, tools used, data sources, coordinate systems, and projections. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bunting stand for displaying their project description poster. The rental fee applies for bunting stands provided by the organizers, but quantities are limited.
Team Composition: Each team must consist of three (3) members who are current students in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Demonstration: The secretariat will provide an exhibition table, but participants must bring their own laptop and power cable extension for system demonstrations.
Registration Deadline: 15 April 2026.
Registration Fee: A fee of RM 70.00 applies to each entry.
