Dodi W. Irawanto is a professor in the Department of Management at Brawijaya University, where he has been since 2001. From 2018 to 2024, he served as Secretary of the Directorate of Research and Community Services. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Chief of the Indonesian Association of Master Management Program. During 2010–2011, he was a visiting associate professor at the IPU Tertiary Institute, New Zealand, and in 2018, he was a visiting professor at Yuan Ze University in Taiwan. He received a B.Economics. from Brawijaya University in 1999 and an M.Com. from Wollongong University, Australia. He received his Ph.D. in cross-cultural leadership at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand in 2010.
His research interests span both human resources management and cross-cultural leadership. Much of his work has been in the area of HRM and organizational behavior. He published more than 50 articles in reputable journals, as well as three books published nationally and internationally. Recently, he focused on streamlining research into commercialization, where his work on leadership research resulting in innovation in real-time web-based leadership assessment was used in many companies in Indonesia. He translates this into a start-up digital company called LocalLead.id.
Professor Irawanto currently serves as Editor in Chief of Asia-Pacific Management and Business Application Journal, a Sinta-2 Indonesian National Accredited Journal since 2013. He also serves as editor of Asia Pacific Business Review Journal, a SSCI and Scopus-indexed journal published by Taylor and Francis. In the past 5 years, he has served as a keynote speaker at national seminars and international conferences. He won several prestigious awards internationally, including the including the Marry Mallon HR Award from New Zealand, and the last is listed among the top five scientists in social sciences at Brawijaya University, among many others.
