This degree program is mainly focused on methods of analysing problems, idea translation and creativity, as well as visualization, presentation, and communication. Students will be exposed to design thinking, design methods, manual dexterity, technical drawing skills, self-discipline, conceptual vision, understanding and knowledge of applied engineering principles, human factors/ ergonomics, aesthetics, industrial materials and processes, and digital computer-aided design within product/ furniture/ transport design disciplines and new design frontiers.

This program prepares students to be industrial designers through practice of design fundamentals within product, furniture and/or transport as well as relevant applied industry. They are trained to provide total design solutions that harmonizes high quality aesthetics, technology, ergonomics requirement, efficient user interface, as well as good market consideration.
