Weaving the Future of Fashion :::
The 2025 FUTURE DESIGNER X GIO FABRICS program, organised by Gio Fabrics, was held on 4 December 2025 at the Main Auditorium, Faculty of Art & Design .
Led by Dr. Nasa’ie bin Zainuddin, the session provided students with an in-depth introduction to Gio Fabrics’ textile innovations, emphasizing the critical role of fabric selection in fashion design. Through hands-on material exploration, students developed an understanding of how textile properties influence creative processes and inform design direction.
This collaborative initiative enhanced students’ industry awareness while contributing to their creative development and professional readiness as emerging designers.
Fashion Meets Auto, Driving Creativity :::
The Lifestyle Photoshoot: Perodua Vehicle x Fashion Students FSSR UiTM Shah Alam is a strategic industry-academic collaboration between the Faculty of Art & Design (FSSR), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, and DMM Sales Sdn. Bhd. (DMMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Daihatsu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. The event will take place on 24 July 2025 (Thursday) as a one-day experiential learning program involving students from the Fashion Design discipline.
Held at the covered parking area of the Faculty of Art & Design, UiTM Shah Alam, the event is led by En. Mohd Ariff Habit, En. Muhamad Zharin Hariz Mat Mazelan, and Pn. Prinses Saliang, who oversee the coordination, academic integration, and industry collaboration for this program.
As the main sponsor of the UiTM Degree Fashion Show, DMMS will showcase three (3) latest Perodua vehicles. The vehicles will be positioned at the Foyer Complex Ilham parking area, FSSR UiTM, where they will serve as the primary visual backdrop and centerpiece for the lifestyle photoshoot competition.
Participants will produce creative visual content in either short-form video formats (15–30 seconds) or high-quality still photography, highlighting the dynamic interaction between fashion styling, lifestyle storytelling, and automotive branding. This initiative mirrors real-world creative industry practices, emphasizing visual communication, branding aesthetics, content creation, and commercial storytelling.
Through this collaboration, students gain valuable opportunities to build professional portfolios, strengthen industry networking, and develop practical competencies aligned with market demands in fashion design, creative media, lifestyle photography, and automotive content production. The program also strengthens UiTM’s commitment to industry engagement and innovation-driven education.
Beauty On-The-Move :::
Building on the success of the first EH! Beauty Truck activation, the EH!XPERIENCE x KÉRASTASE TRUCK delivered an immersive mobile brand experience to UiTM Shah Alam, led by Dr. Rose Dahlina Rusli and Ms. Mujahidah Mohd Misbahul Munir.
Held at the foyer area of the Faculty of Art & Design, students participated in live demonstrations, interactive consultations, and curated giveaways. The program aimed to reignite on-ground engagement, expand brand collaborations into lifestyle and wellness, and strengthen brand presence among Gen Z.
Through this vibrant campus activation, students gained first-hand insights into experiential marketing, brand engagement, and creative industry practices leaving a lasting impression and inspiring the next generation of talent.

ByBatique for Piala Seri Endon 2019 x Fashion Design
Designer Apprentice Project::: Academia-Industry synergy is again made reality when Fashion Design and Textile departments join forces in collaboration with ByBatique Sdn Bhd to produce design collection for the upcoming Piala Seri Endon 2019.
Involving two designer students from Fashion Design department and one textile expert from Textile Design department, we are ready to introduce our students as designers in live collaboration project between FSSR UiTM and ByBatique, in which was showcased during Grand Finale special slots in recent Piala Seri Endon 2019.

Bandoru Store x Fashion Design
From Bundle to Wonder :::
The program started with CATCHING THE VISION of Bandoru Store, in which involving a short talk on the company’s DNA and business strategy by its CEO, Mr. Azizul and accompanied by Mr. Syaiful (Executive Director) and Mr. Wafi Shari, founder of Bandoru Store.
Led by Ms. Prinses Saliang, Mr. Khairulazlan Abdul Karim, Mr. Muhd. Zharin, and Mr. Zaimi, this project commenced by using bundle clothes to recreate new fashion for high-end market. The outcome of the project was showcased during AD Design Expo 2019, I City Convention Centre, 14th July 2019 and officiated by Datin Vivy Yusof.

Sustainable Fashion thru Upcycle Practices #UpcycleCreations
CHEERING the SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE:::
Fashion Design department also an avid support of Sustainable Movement in fashion industry. In December 2018, Fashion Design department was invited to participate as volunteers in #UpcycleCreations Workshop by ASWARA in partnership with Kloth Cares at Textile Museum in Kuala Lumpur.
Initiated by ASWARA, #UpcycleCreations - Recovery of Synthetic Fabrics, commenced in three different event components which were exhibition, D.I.Y workshop and Innovation Runway.
Ms. Prinses from UiTM conducted a short talk on Recycling Fashion before proceeded with mentoring the participants for the upcycle D.I.Y workshop.
