Welcome to French 104!
French 104 is a four (4) credit hour class. It meets MWF face-to-face, and one credit hour is fulfilled with online learning materials.
Expect to spend 1.5 hours completing homework for each class session you meet face-to-face.
Bienvenue/Welcome! In this intermediate fourth-semester class conducted in French, you will increase your skills in spoken and written French, practicing and reviewing with online materials, textbook activities, writing projects, readings, films, and speaking activities. You’ll learn more about the diverse Francophone (French-speaking) cultures around the world by interacting with texts and films from a variety of time periods and places.
You’ll expand your knowledge of grammar (for example, le subjonctif, le conditionnel passé, l’infinitif présent et passé), and learn and practice new vocabulary in the context of selected topics, readings, and films. You’ll improve your written and spoken communication skills in class and with online writing and speaking projects.
You’ll start thinking about how to use French in your career and continuing with French as an elective, minor, or major here at UIC. For more information, contact Dr. Elizabeth Weber, edweber@uic.edu.
