Google Classroom has been chosen as the Learning Management System (LMS) to be used by the university. Its use started when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and was institutionalized through the IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS ON DISTANCE LEARNING by the Office of the Vice President for Academics. The succceeding sections describe the process of using Google Classroom.
During the enrollment week, the MIS office generates Google Classrooms based on the Course Offering submitted by the deans to the Registrar's Office.
If the Course Offering does not indicate the Faculty assigned to a course, it will be assigned as TBA. The deans should update the Registrar's Office as soon as they have assigned a teacher.
Once the Google Classrooms are generated, the Faculty will be able to see the courses when they log in to https://classroom.google.com using their UIC email.
For each of the Google Classroom, the Faculty shall check their classlist from myUIC (https://my.uic.edu.ph) and add the students.
In case that the Faculty cannot see their assigned Course, they can request for a class to be opened following the guidelines below.
Visit https://classroom.google.com and log in using your UIC Email.
If you cannot see your assigned class, please fill up a form using http://mis.uic.edu.ph/support-ticket/ .
Choose Other in the Request type and make sure you write in the Details section that you are requesting to Open a Class in Google Classroom.
Make sure you indicate the course code, course title, and section of the class that you should be having.
The MIS office will create your classroom for you, and you will be notified once this is done.
Please allow 24-48 hours for your class to be activated.
. You should be seeing your assigned classes after the enrollment period is finished.
If there are restrictions that you encounter in Google Classroom, please contact the MIS office through email mis@uic.edu.ph or by filling up the same form above.
