Kinder Team

Mrs. Quentmeyer

I went to California State University, Chico where I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies, as well as my Teaching Credential. I started my teaching career in Colusa and spent eight years with some amazing groups of 6th graders. This is my third year teaching kindergarten here at Union Hill School.

I have three  littles and a dog that keep me laughing and busy. With my husband we love to go on adventures, hiking, biking, swimming... the grocery store. I also enjoy puzzles, reading, photography and DIY crafts, even if they end up as Pinterest fails.

A few of my favorites:

Mrs. Olsen

I am a proud 5th generation native of Nevada County. I have a four year old son and a three year old daughter.  My family enjoys going on hikes, boating, walks, and adventures together with our Golden Retriever, Captain. I also like to spend time baking, gardening, doing yoga, and tending to my house plants. We love camping and enjoy going to the ocean!

In 2013, I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Sacramento State University. I immediately began the credential program with CalStateTEACH. In 2017, I attended Brandman University completing my Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Teaching and Learning.

I love a good cup of black coffee or an Americano. My favorite candy is Almond Joy and dark chocolate.

Mrs. Cooney

I grew up in Morgan Hill; a small town between San José and Gilroy, Ca. During my childhood I enjoyed art, music, photography, babysitting, training dogs, and FFA. Out of high school, I moved to Sonoma County to attend Sonoma State University and met my now husband of 17 years. We relocated to San José where I received my BA in Child and Adolescent Development from San José State University. We lived in Santa Rosa, Ca for 12 years and have a 15 year old son, Kaleb and a 10 year old daughter, Marah. My family and I enjoy camping and being outdoors.

I was a stay-at-home Mom for 9 years and when my daughter entered TK, I was ready to get in the classroom! I have always known I would be a teacher, ever since I was very young. Over the years I have taught in Preschool and held a position as a TK-2nd grade Art Teacher. I started back in Elementary Education as a 1:1 Teacher’s aide for 3 years and what a rewarding time this was for me! Then, I jumped on the opportunity to enter a Credential program where I earned my Teaching Credential. I have taught Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

Mrs. Fowler

I was born and raised in Los Altos, Ca.  along with my 6 siblings.  I grew up playing every sport I was allowed to do, which led me to Fresno State on a volleyball and track scholarship.  I received my Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Fresno State and my credential as well.  I then returned to my hometown where I started teaching in 1st grade.  I ended up moving to Nevada City, where I married my Kindergarten sweetheart.  I am a very blessed mother of 3.  My two daughters attend Union Hill, and my son is attending Nevada Union.  I have a lab named Ember and a cat named Ash.  I have been teaching here at Union Hill since 2003 and I've taught every grade K-6th.  Since entering motherhood, I made the switch  to work part time, allowing me to enjoy every part of my kids development and adventures in and out of school.  You often will see me on campus, in a gym, or on a field as I love to teach and coach!  I love the outdoors,  and all the activities that go with it.  I also love to cook, and of course I have a sweet tooth.  I am very excited to be working in Kindergarten with Mrs. Olsen.
