When you have registered for a training course or activity, you are expected to be present. Some of the courses/activities are in high demand, so we kindly ask you to inform us as soon as possible if you have to cancel your enrolment.
Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows have at least four negative consequences:
Other interested colleagues have no chance to participate.
The cost per participant increases substantially.
Resources are being wasted.
In case of too small groups, the quality of courses/workshops/activities cannot be guaranteed or their organisation is even cancelled.
In order to prevent this, the following rules apply until further notice.Â
If you cancel up to 1 week before the activity, you do not need to provide a reason for your absence. You simply send an email to the organizer. Cancellation by declining the calendar invite does NOT suffice!
Cancellations less than 1 week (< 7 days) before the activity are only allowed in case of illness or an unexpected personal emergency. In that case, you are expected to deliver some sort of proof.
Please help us in delivering a (free!) training course or activity offer in a sustainable way by managing your schedule and time effectively. Plan your participation in training sessions or activity thoughtfully, and if you need to cancel, do so in a timely manner. This contributes to an efficient work environment and shows respect for both your own time and the university's resources.
*The documents may be sent by email (international@uhasselt.be) or by regular mail and should reach us within 10 working days after the activity. If not, the warning or fee will still be taking effect.
