2. Be well-rested the day of the test.

4. Use highlighters to locate main ideas and supporting details in readings.
5. Use writing process: understand the task by reading the question carefully, then generate ideas, then organize those ideas, THEN write. Students who use the rough-notes areas and prepare BEFORE they write, do better on the test.
