Welcome Back Letter

Language

In a normal year, we would be exploring the Daily 5 (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Guided Reading). However, due to the distancing issues, I am attempting to find ways to work with students from a distance, yet one on one. This is likely where a great deal of technology experience will come in. In the meantime, we will be learning to read independently for sustained periods of time, learning to write stories, and explore making words.

Math

We are exploring the Week of Inspirational Math. This concept is found at youcubed.org, and discusses the ways people learn math, and shares that we all can learn math. We will explore some math concepts, while building confidence in the subject.
