How to Access E-Learning Class
How to Navigate Your E-Learning Class
Linking your UGCLOUD account to Brightspace will allow you to submit assignments right from your Google Drive.
If you've done this before for one of your e-learning courses, your drive should already be linked. If you are new to e-learning with Brightspace, you can watch the video at the left.
When does my course start and finish?
Your elearning classes will begin the first week(day) of school and run the duration of the semester.
How many hours a day should I be spending on my course?
During a regular semester Students should expect to work a minimum of 75 minutes every day to complete their studies. Since summer e-elarning is condensed to one month you should expect to spend at least 5 hours a day on your course.
Do I have to do the orientation?
Yes. An orientation could save you hours of trying to get help by email or over google meets. It goes over many of the basics of navigating courses and the Brightspace systems. In some cases, you will not see course material or be able to start coursework until an orientation is complete.
Does it matter when or where I work on the course?
You can work on the course from wherever you like. From within CWDHS the Learning Commons will be available to you most days, as well as the Guidance area, Caff or HUB. You can also check in with the Resource staff if you prefer to work in a more supportive space. The time of day that you work on the course only matters in relation to the deadlines set by your instructor. You could work on it at any time of day, as long as you are meeting deadlines. You should also be completing work everyday otherwise the instructor may flag you as inactive and have you removed from the course.Completing work does not just mean logging into the site - it means engaging with the content.
Who do I contact if I need help?
Contact the instructor for your course FIRST. They will be able to answer most of your questions.
Stop by the Learning COmmons during your schedulled elearning period. The Learning Commons staff can help navigate issues with Brightspace and also help you to walk through your course content and material.
