Sofia Yaker is third-year student at the University of Georgia studying journalism in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and is pursuing the Sports Media Certificate. 

At the University of Georgia, Sofia works as an intern-student photographer with the University of Georgia Athletic Association where she covers all athletics offered at UGA, including football, volleyball, tennis and more. 

Sofia's goal is to become a sports photojournalist. She plans to gain experience through working with UGA athletics and use what she learns to further her career as a sports photographer. 

Sofia works towards capturing moments that tell stories in athletics and sporting events. Storytelling through still-pictures is an important aspect in the sports photojournalism world that Sofia hopes to contribute to. She hopes to contribute her knowledge of story telling through photos to advance the way in which sports stories are told. 

When she doesn't have a camera in her hands, Sofia loves to listen to music, go for walks, cook and as a film lover she enjoys watching movies and binging TV shows.
