As a student journalist at the University of Georgia's Grady College, I've gained hands-on experience through my work with The Red & Black sports desk. I've learned how to conduct effective interviews, secure reliable sources, write clear and engaging stories, and post timely updates on social media. Covering games, events and meetings has sharpened my ability to report accurately and under a deadline.

Each assignment has enforced the importance of accuracy, clarity and ethical reporting through news values. I have been able to grow my connection with audiences and interviewees to better build a relationship between news and media. 

These experiences have strengthened my passion for sports journalism and confirmed my career goals. I plan to earn a Sports Media Certificate to build on these skills and continue growing in the field.
