As a third-year student at the University of Georgia, I began my reporting coursework this January, which introduced me to the fundamentals of journalistic storytelling and research. I covered campus events and conducted interviews, honing my ability to ask clear questions and verify facts under tight deadlines. Covering events like Athens Twilight provided further experience in writing articles and understanding newsroom operations, reinforcing my skills in concise communication and accurate reporting. These opportunities helped me develop confidence in handling multiple assignments and adapting to different story types. Volunteering in children’s ministry, assisting in daycare, and managing social media content for various campus events strengthened my organization and interpersonal skills, enabling me to connect with diverse audiences. These experiences shape my goal of becoming a journalist who produces engaging, truthful stories that serve the community. Sources like Red and Black or Fox News are in my daily reach. Each step has prepared me to pursue internships at larger outlets and deepen my reporting expertise, with a focus on stories that matter and impact people’s lives.
Hey everyone! It's me, Anslee! I know we've met on my "business" side, but it's time to make things a little personal.
First things first, I'm a Georgia peach through and through. Born and raised in Georgia, education in Georgia, and silly enough, going to graduate from THE Georgia. I graduated from Georgia State University in May 2025 with my associate's degree in journalism. From there, I decided to continue my journey at the University of Georgia.
I'm very creative, once I get done doing my favorite thing - naps. I paint, I read, and most excitingly- play the Sims. I've been an avid Sims 4 player since 2018 (shoutout to Clare Siobhan), and it's been nothing less of a good time. You can find me spending hours designing sims and their outfits or building their homes from scratch. I have loads of custom content that could blow up my PC.
Pets, pets, pets. I have a dog (that has now gone blind), and her name is Zuri. Yes, like Zuri off of Jessie. In my life I have had lots of fish, a pet crab named Joe, and more recently, African Dwarf frogs. I love animals, as it would be a dream to visit Australia one day.
I mentioned side quests a little while ago... let's get into that. I love going to random, and sometimes very niche places. I've worked at the Renaissance Faire, so I was caught between a princess and a fairy. More so a princess, as I was there selling tiaras. I love the holidays so you can catch me dressed up for any Christmas event, Halloween or even a St. Patrick's Day parade! I like any community events or concerts, as I've seen Kid Laroi and Mariah the Scientist perform. I'm looking to increase artists to that list.
To top all things off, I've been a Justin Bieber fan since I was 4. I would say it has died down, but I love music down! Oh, family. I love my family too, as you can catch me spending time with them.
I hope you guys have learned a little about me... I do want to remain slightly mysterious. I will try hard to get this turtle out of its shell.
