Through classes like Intro to Photojournalism with Dr. Lough and Advanced Photojournalism with Professor Johnson, I have developed a skillset in photojournalism and discovered that this is the form of journalism I most enjoy producing. I was excited to employ this for my Reporting III Photo Essay. This story was the first time I had to pivot topics this semester, and I am actually glad I did pivot. This piece is one of my favorite pieces I've produced while in Grady. The owners of Ghost were such welcoming and kind people that they felt easy to interview. It was very conversational, and we talked for so long that I could have written multiple articles about their business. I was pleased with the photos I got, but enjoyed writing the article the most. Through this I learned that a great interview can take stories to the next level and help connect readers in a meaningful way.
