The NYC Department of Education recognizes National Board Certification as a direct qualifier for the C6+PD promotional salary differential, instantly giving you the same financial leap as holding a Master's degree plus 30 additional credits. Backed by candidate resources from the UFT Teacher Center and state fee-subsidies, achieving Board certification is the ultimate way for NYC educators to be recognized—and compensated—as accomplished leaders in their schools.

How will i pay for this?

NYSUT SHANKER GRANT

If you are a tenured teacher with a valid NYS teaching certificate and employed as a full-time teacher in a NYS public school you can apply.

Application deadline is February 7, 2025.
Pay up front $75 registration fee, must pay each year you are in the process.
Funds first time candidates. All components must be attempted within 3 years.

Also funds retake of one component or Maintenance of Certification.
