Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 13th Mini Workshop on Singularities, Geometry and Differential Equations to be held at the ICMC-USP, São Carlos, from September 21 to 27, 2025.

The Mini Workshop was created by the singularity group of the Departamento de Matemática, ICMC-USP, São Carlos, had its first edition in 1999. Organized annually until 2002 at the ICMC-USP,  it became since then a biannual meeting organized on odd numbered years.   In 2015 it was held in Fortaleza and in 2017,  the UFF  hosted the Mini Workshop and held at the same time the VIII Workshop on Algebraic  Singularity Theory to celebrate the 70th birthday of Abramo Hefez. The 12th edition was held at UFES/Vitória/Espírito Santo in 2019, together with the 1st Meeting on Foliations and Singularities. Due to the covid 19 pandemic the Mini Workshop did not take place in the years 2021 and 2023.

This is the first edition of the event after the pandemic, and we are delighted to resume this gathering, providing a space for researchers and students to exchange ideas and strengthen collaborations in the field. In this 13th edition, the event returns to the city of São Carlos as a joint event between the Universidade Federal de São Carlos and the Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação da Universidade de São Paulo.

We will also have a special tribute to Jean-Paul Brasselet on the occasion of his 80th birthday, celebrating his contributions to the field of Singularity Theory and his influence on the mathematical community.

The Scientific Committee is formed by: Alexandre César Gurgel Fernandes (UFC-Ceará), Anne Pichon(Univ. Marseille), Bruna Oréfice Okamoto (UFSCar, São Carlos), Jawad Snoussi (UNAM, Cuernavaca), Marcelo Escudeiro Hernandes (UEM-Maringá), Marcelo José Saia (UNESP, Rio Claro), Maria Aparecida Soares Ruas (USP, São Carlos). 

The Organizing Committee is formed by: Bárbara Karolline de Lima Pereira (USP), Hellen Monção de Carvalho Santana (UFSCar), Leandro Nery de Oliveira (UFSCar), Marcelo Jose Saia (UNESP), Regilene Delazari dos Santos Oliveira (USP) and Thaís Maria Dalbelo (UFSCar).

If you plan to attend the conference, the information about registration will appear on the above webpage. As soon as the registration be available, we encourage you to make your registration, this would also help us in organizational issues related to logistics and funds. Further information about hotels and fees will be provided later.

You can find information about hotels in São Carlos under the Information tab on the workshop webpage. Please note that participants are responsible for booking their own accommodations. If you need assistance, feel free to contact us.

Since this time we are facing difficulties obtaining financial support, we would be very grateful if you were able to find funds to cover your travel and local expenses.

We expect to receive confirmation regarding our funding request by August. If approved, we hope to be able to offer limited support for local expenses.
