João Carlos N. Bittencourt is professor at Center of Exact Sciences and Technology (CETEC) at Federal University of Recôncavo of Bahia (UFRB). He received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering (2013) from State University of Feira de Santana, with a period at University of Lisbon (TU-Lisbon) (2012). He received his M.Sc. degree in 2016, in Electrical Engineering, from Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). His M.Sc. research work was focused on the design of a compact Secure Computing Module in reconfigurable systems. He was Front-end ASIC Engineer of LSI-TEC from 2013 to 2014. Worked as a consultant for the Supercomputer Center at SENAI CIMATEC in projects related to high performance accelerator for data centers. Today, Bittencourt is professor in the Undergraduate Courses of Computer Engineering (ECP), Electrical Engeneering (EELE) and Exact Sciences and Technology (BCET) at UFRB. His academic experiences are focused on, reconfigurable hardware accelerators, embedded systems, and Internet of Things. Currently, he is focused on subjects for the design of high performance and low footprint embedded application, with special interests on machine learning and compact FPGA architectures for smart cities..
