Título: Compact gradient Einstein-type manifolds with boundary
Resumo: We deal with rigidity results for compact gradient Einstein-type manifolds with nonempty boundaries. As a result, we obtain new characterizations for hemispheres and geodesic balls in simply connected space forms. In dimensions three and five, we obtain topological characterizations for the boundary and upper bounds for its area.

Título: Geometric Bäcklund Transformations and Superposition Formulae for the hyperbolic and elliptic sine-Gordon and sinh-Gordon equations
Resumo: We present a unified approach for the six cases of Bäcklund-type theorems for space-like or time-like surfaces, in the 3-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space. In each case, the surfaces have constant negative or positive Gaussian curvature and they correspond to solutions of the hyperbolic or elliptic sine-Gordon or sinh-Gordon equations. We discuss Bäcklund transformations and obtain superposition formulae for these equations. This procedure provides infinitely many solutions of the differential equations and it shows an unusual property for the elliptic equations. The Bäcklund transformation alternates solutions of the elliptic sine-Gordon equation and the superposition formula provides solutions of the same elliptic equation. Explicit examples and illustrations are included. This talk is based on recent papers in collaboration with Filipe Kelmer and Luciana A. Rodrigues.

Título: On the intersection problem for 1-surfaces in the hyperbolic 3-space
Resumo: We will start the talk with a brief discussion on the roots of the intersection problem in Differential Geometry. After presenting some classic and recent results for minimal surfaces in the Euclidean 3-space, we will talk about some classic and new developments about this problem for 1-surfaces with bounded curvature immersed in the hyperbolic 3-space. In the end, if times permits, we will also consider a Frankel property for 1-surfaces with bounded curvature immersed in a space with Ricci curvature strictly bigger than -2.
This is a joint work with G. Pacelli Bessa (UFC) and Cicero T. Cruz (UFAL).

Título: Estruturas geométricas associadas a 3-variedades fibradas

Título: The first width of non-negatively curved surfaces with convex boundary
Resumo: The p-widths are special critical values of the volume which naturally arise in the Min-max Theory of Almgren and Pitts. They are realized by the volume of stationary generalized submanifolds. The p-widths determine a sequence of min-max numbers associated to a Riemannian manifold which is a nonlinear analog of the spectrum of its Laplace-Beltrami operator. Their relevance is shown in connection with results on the existence of infinitely many critical points of the volume functional, or related to spectral properties. For arbitrary dimension and codimension, the theory was developed to address major existence questions. Full regularity of a stationary submanifold arising in this theory holds in the case of codimension one as long as the dimension of the manifold is between three and seven.
Sidney Donato (UFAL) recently studied the case of p-widths of compact surfaces with striclty convex boundary with respect to the length functional. This functional acts on the space of relative flat 1-dimensional cycles modulo 2. He proved that p-widths can be approximated by lengths of free boundary geodesic networks, and applied this regularity result to compute first four p-widths of the flat unit disk.
The main result of this talk concerns the existence of a geodesic network with a rather simple structure which realizes the first width of a surface with non-negative sectional curvature and strictly convex boundary. This result is part of a joint work with S. Donato.
