Susana Raquel PFS Ramalho holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, specializing in Social and Work Psychology from Universidade Fernando Pessoa, Portugal, and a Master's in Cognitive Processes and Learning Difficulties from Universidade de Vigo, Spain. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology at the same Spanish university.
Her research interests primarily focus on patient awareness and literacy concerning metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension, aiming to enhance understanding and management of these conditions. Susana has also participated in several scientific and health-related events and has been recognized for her research with awards, such as the 1st Prize for Best Communication on Cardiometabolic Diseases Awareness in the Portuguese population.
Professionally, Susana has evolved from roles in human resources management and technical education positions to a research-focused career. As of December 2021, she has been engaged as a Contracted Researcher at Instituto Politécnico do Porto, Portugal.
