Diogo Filipe Rocha Ferreira is currently a PhD student in Advanced Biotechnology at the University of Vigo. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto in 2016. He then pursued a Master's degree in Microbiology at Aveiro, where he conducted research in Molecular Virology and Bacterial and Viral coinfections at the Institute of Molecular Virology in Münster, Germany.
In 2019, Diogo worked as a research fellow at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto where he focused on studying antibiotic-resistant environmental bacteria. Shortly after, completed a Postgraduate in Clinical Analysis and Public Health, with focus in Microbiology, while he volunteered on Covid-19 diagnosis. Currently, his primary research interest lies in studying the secondary metabolites produced by filamentous fungi and exploring their antibacterial and antitumoral potential.
