Ana Cláudia dos Santos Pereira earned a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Aveiro (2004-2008), an integrated M.Sc. in Health Biochemistry from Instituto Politécnico do Porto's Health School (2011-2012), and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Minho (2017-2021) as a scholarship student of the MIT-Portugal Program. She taught at the Health School from 2011 to 2016, covering Pharmacy, Environmental Health, Speech Therapy, and Medicinal Biotechnology. Her research spans Metabolism, Cancer and Infection Diagnostics and Therapeutics, resulting in 20 publications and 9 scientific presentations. In 2022, she coordinated the Genetic Bioengineering area at PORTIC and managed projects including a €50,000 FCT grant for aptamer-based diagnostics and therapy in personalized medicine. As of February 2023, she is an Assistant Professor at the University Fernando Pessoa's Faculty of Health Sciences and is involved with CECLIN. Her research focuses on synthetic molecules for Point-of-Care sensors and personalized medicine in cancer and infection.
