Salah Esmaeili

Ph.D. Student, EdTech program

Salah is an edtech researcher seeking to transform learning through technology.

His background is in educational technology and he is currently pursuing his PhD at University of Florida focused on innovative assessment and training models, including leveraging immersive games and simulations to evaluate and enhance 21st century skills in students.

Nazanin Adhami

Ph.D. Student, EdTech program

Nazanin Adhami is a first-year PhD student in educational technology at the University of Florida. Her academic background is rooted in language learning, and she is passionate about revolutionizing the field of education through the integration of emerging learning technologies. With a focus on leveraging innovative tools and methodologies, she aims to bring positive change and enhance learning experiences for students of all backgrounds.

Shan Zhang

Ph.D. Student, EdTech program

Shan is a Ph.D. student in Educational Technology at the University of Florida. She had several teaching and research experiences in elementary school and early childhood education. She is interested in exploring the opportunities for AI integration in K-12 classrooms to enhance teaching and learning and utilizing educational data mining and NLP techniques to analyze students’ learning patterns.

Lingchen Kong

Ph.D. Student, REM program

Lingchen is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Research and Evaluation Methodology Program at the University of Florida. Equipped with an in-depth knowledge of programming, applied statistics, and data-driven optimization methods, he has work experience as a data scientist and researcher in various educational organizations, including Edtech startup, National Institute of Education Sciences (China), and the New York City Department of Education. His current research projects focus on educational data mining, automatic question generation, as well as combining NLP and AI techniques with psychometric research. He has been working as a research assistant in Dr.Jinnie Shin’s projects since 2022.
