About the Symposium
From Ideas to Impact: Advancing Education for the Gator Good is our theme for the symposium. The UF College of Education Research Symposium is a student-centered academic forum that brings together graduate and undergraduate researchers, faculty, educators, and practitioners to share research, exchange ideas, and explore the transformative potential of educational inquiry. Aligned with the University of Florida College of Education's vision of transforming education and strengthening society through the preparation of exemplary practitioners and scholars, the symposium aims to inspire positive change and advancement in the field. Through this event, we seek to facilitate meaningful dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration, cultivating innovative perspectives and strategies to address the evolving needs of learners and educators.
As in previous years, we understand the term “research” broadly and welcome submissions of original social science research, historical inquiry, practitioner inquiry, and other scholarly work that deepens our understanding of education in both formal and informal settings. Graduate students and undergraduate students engaged in research, whether independently or in collaboration with faculty mentors, are strongly encouraged to submit proposals, along with faculty members and practitioners working across various educational contexts. The symposium provides a supportive environment where participants can experience presenting and sharing ideas at a conference without additional financial costs.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Engage in interdisciplinary discussions that foster innovation and collaboration
Gain conference-style presentation experience in a supportive academic setting
Contribute to conversations that shape the future of education
Receive valuable feedback to refine and advance your research
Be eligible for awards recognizing outstanding presentations*
* Only paper and poster presentations will be eligible for awards.
Attendance
The symposium is free and open to the public, and no registration or fee is required to attend. Participants are welcome to join at any time during the event, and guests or colleagues are also welcome. Accepted presenters will participate without any registration fee.
