My future career plans are still undecided as I navigate through the Education Sciences Program here at the University of Florida. I am interested in the Educational Technology area of Education Sciences and would like to explore where that can lead me in my career decision. I am interested in designing curriculum for schools as it can be a fun, creative outlet to learn new things and gather new perspectives. I taught a technology course to Kindergartners at my Montessori School and loved being able to create a Scope and Sequence that is effective yet fun. I was excited to teach the lessons I planned for the students and see the joy on their faces when they saw the fun activities that applied to what they were learning. I believe that teaching comes from a place of love and passion so creating lessons and using resources from technology can enhance their learning environment as well as create a love for learning instilled in them. I am highly interested in learning more about the job opportunities that are related to designing new learning experiences and curriculum with the use of technology. I would love to learn more about possibilities as well as their position in creating curriculum. I never really thought about creating curriculum as a job. I have always wanted to be an elementary teacher but after the past few years I have gravitated towards helping produce better supportive learning tools and resources. I love having an outlet to explore and create an enjoyable yet effective curriculum. I am beyond excited to see where the Education Sciences program takes me and what career comes out of this.
