Zhao-Dong Xu is a National Distinguished Professor, Second-Level Professor and doctoral supervisor at Southeast University. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, an inaugural Xplorer Prize recipient, and a recipient of the Pakistan National Civil Award (Presidential Award). His research focuses on structural vibration control and safety monitoring, seismic engineering and intelligent multi-hazard disaster prevention, and smart materials and structures. He currently serves as Director of the China-Pakistan Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Smart Disaster Prevention of Major Infrastructures, Vice Chair of the Engineering and Technology Committee of the National Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, and Executive Council Member of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering and Chair of its Structural Dynamics Committee. He has published more than 400 SCI-indexed papers and eight academic monographs with publishers including Elsevier and Wiley.
