As we find ourselves in the thick of the holiday season, much of what has been happening in the media or in our own school districts may make us feel like decking more than just the halls. In the face of some of the vocal minority questioning our contributions as professionals and casting wild accusations about our schools’ collections, our efforts to infuse our libraries with engaging, positive programming is more important than ever. Now is the time to show through our actions that our libraries are the hub of our schools. I hope that as we begin our much-needed breaks, you will know how greatly you are appreciated. The work we are doing is valuable; we are helping shape the future one patron at a time.
